Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Lenia App ("Lenia," "we," "us," "our"), an online language learning platform. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Lenia. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement. We may request age verification and may suspend or terminate accounts that do not meet this requirement.

You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.

Notify us immediately at privacy@lenia.app if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

One account per person. Accounts are not transferable.

Lenia provides: Structured language courses and lessons (currently Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian), Spaced-repetition flashcards, Video, reading, and listening content with interactive exercises, AI-powered conversation practice and writing feedback, Adaptive placement testing, Gamification features (streaks, points, and similar)

Features available to you depend on your subscription tier (Standard or Premium), particularly regarding access to AI-powered features. We may add, modify, or discontinue features at our discretion, with reasonable notice for material reductions in paid functionality.

You agree not to: Share your account credentials or allow others to use your account, Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract our content or underlying models, Upload content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, or abusive, Circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or paywalls, Use automated means (bots, scripts) to access the Service

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

Content you submit (writing samples, uploaded audio, notes, imported video links) remains yours. By submitting it, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and use it as necessary to provide and improve the Service.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any content you upload and that it doesn't infringe third-party rights.

We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

Lenia uses third-party AI providers to power conversation practice, writing feedback, and related features. AI-generated feedback and content are provided for learning purposes and may contain errors or inaccuracies. Do not rely on AI output as a substitute for professional translation, certification, or advice.

All course content, software, design, and branding of Lenia are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial learning purposes.

You may not copy, redistribute, resell, or publicly share our course content or platform.

The Service integrates third-party providers (payment processors, AI providers, hosting, video/audio services). Your use of features relying on these providers is also subject to their applicable terms where relevant.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will result in any particular learning outcome or proficiency level.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, or other liability that cannot be excluded under German law.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time via account settings.

We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or extended inactivity, with notice where reasonably possible.

Upon termination, your right to access the Service ends; provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive will continue to apply.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The courts of Hameln, Germany shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
